People and planet first! How to design people – centered and sustainable solutions

Dr. Dan Podjed illustrated this topic vividly from the perspective of four stages of human-centered development. These are: (1) Identification: For whom are we developing and with whom are we solving? (2) Analysis: What do people want? (3) Interpretation: What and how will we create to meet people’s needs? (4) Testing: Why is this important for people? He summarized his thoughts in the form of five recommendations for developing human-friendly and sustainable solutions for the post-pandemic era. These are: (1) Involving people in the development process (the four stages of human-centered development); (2) Combining digital and analog solutions by integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches; (3) Discovering and considering new habits and lifestyles of the “covid person” , “homo covidensis” ; (4) Supporting the development of “calm technologies” that people will accept, use, and that will not take up too much of their time and attention; (5) Forget about users, buyers, and customers – instead, think about people and the planet.
