Integration of personal experience into fashion design practice

In the field of Fashion design sources of inspiration are usually visual and have material from. Through personal creative practice, I came across a problem that there are not enough methods how to integrate personal experience into fashion design practice, therefore in my works, I have used creative writing and autoethnography research method. Personal experience in the written form is transformed into material inspiration, artefact and lets it act not only as a source of inspiration but also as creative work itself. The new method helps the designer to tell one’s story and a product to be culturally and emotionally noticeable (recognizable) and authentic. Defined steps of this research method allow us to explore and systematically follow research stages that could help fashion designers, who examine uncommon sources of inspiration, transdisciplinarity, and emotional potency of fashion objects.
